Get to know the details of your home
The details help make a home
Layout, materials, systems and finishes are all part of the same decision. Review the documented specifications for the unit that interests you.
From the plan to what is included
Review the available floor plan and area schedule for the home. Check how its spaces are described and which elements are included. If you need dimensions for furniture or equipment, request confirmation before buying them.
Ask for the applicable list of finishes and specifications: flooring, wall finishes, doors, windows, fixtures and service connection points, as appropriate. A photograph may show decoration or equipment that is not included at handover.
Ask about every difference
If you are comparing a model home, an illustrative image and the unit on offer, ask about any differences. Review documented substitutions or adjustments and their effect on what has been agreed.
Keep the versions of plans, attachments and specifications that accompany your proposal. Together they provide a useful reference when preparing for handover and planning your home's upkeep.
- Identify the unit and plan version.
- Review the included materials and finishes.
- Distinguish staging from equipment included at handover.
